Lake JacksonLake Jackson was formed in 1910 when a dam and hydroelectric plant was constructed at Lloyd Shoals on the Ocmulgee River by the Central Georgia Power Company. It is one of the earliest constructed reservoirs in Georgia. Fed by the Alcovy, South and Yellow Rivers as well as Tussahaw Creek, Jackson Lake has about 135 miles of shoreline and covers about 4,750 acres. Lake Jackson lies in three Georgia counties: Butts County, Jasper County and Newton County.
